The most significant change for the Occupational Therapy Program at the Medical University of South Carolina is the replacement of the 2-year Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation - Occupational Therapy degree for the class starting in June, 1997. All students applying will be required to have 90 semester hours of prerequisites, see Appendix 1.
The enrollment for the Occupational Therapy Program will continue to be 35 students. All application materials must be received by December 1 in the MUSC Office of Enrollment Services.
All qualified applicants are ranked according to a composite score of overall grade point averages, key grade point averages, references and profile points. From this list the top 70 students are invited to interview day. The two interview scores and scores from an essay written by applicants on interview day are used to determine the 35 students who will be accepted into the program.
